Weather and Altitude

September is the best time of year to come to Lake Tahoe. The summer tourist season is over and the crowds are gone. You have the whole place [almost] to yourself. The weather is typically warm and pleasant, however history has shown that temperatures during the day and evening can swing either way. Before you leave for Lake Tahoe, please check the weather forecast. Weather in the mountains can oftentimes be unpredictable. Also note that high altitude weather is very dry, so be sure to drink plenty of water once you arrive.

A Word about High Altitude
Our kickoff dinner will be at High Camp where the elevation is 8700' and the views are breathtaking. Make sure to bring your camera! By arriving in Tahoe a few days early, your body will acclimate. However, if you are arriving on or before September 14, please be careful about alcohol consumption at high elevations. Also, drink plenty of water, as the air is not only thin, but also very dry.
